Position Overview
The Learning Experience – South Lyon is seeking a caring and reliable Assistant Preschool Teacher to support our preschool classrooms serving children ages 3–5. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys working in a structured, play-based learning environment and wants to grow in early childhood education.
Responsibilities
- Support the Lead Teacher in daily preschool classroom routines
- Assist with learning activities aligned with the L.E.A.P. curriculum
- Encourage early literacy, math readiness, and social development
- Help maintain a safe, organized, and engaging classroom environment
- Support transitions, meals, rest time, and learning centers
- Communicate positively with families and team members
- Maintain compliance with Michigan childcare licensing standards
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED required
- Experience in a daycare, preschool, or childcare setting preferred
- ECE coursework or CDA a plus
- Understanding of developmentally appropriate practices helpful
- Must meet Michigan childcare licensing requirements
